Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #6 - Jospeh's Coat

The last video in my Distress Oxide Inks series highlights one of my favorite techniques called Jospeh’s Coat. In this video you will learn how I created these fun cards with a dark background and colorful images peeking through.

This card is a perfect card to kick off Fall this year! Be sure to watch the video to see the “happy” mistake I made.

The colorful images that pop on this card make me smile.

Thanks for watching the 6 videos in my Distress Oxide Inks series. If you enjoyed them, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you won’t miss the next series. I will be participating in a “31 Days of Christmas Cards” video series starting on October 1st!

Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #5 - Stencils

In the 5th video of my Distress Oxide Inks series, you will learn how to use your stencils to create fun cards like these.

Watch the process video below to see how I made these cards...

I used the mandala stencil on this card in the usual way, by inking on top of it using the mini blending tool.

I used the mandala stencil on this card by spritzing it with water first, then laying it down on the inked background to “bleach” the pattern into the ink. I love the subtle pattern it gave to the background.

Stop by tomorrow for the last video in my series where you will learn how to do the Joseph’s Coat technique.

Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #4 - Embossing Folders

The 4th video in my Distress Oxide Inks series highlights ways you can use your embossing folders with the Distress Oxide Inks. Watch the video below to learn how to make these cards...

You can ink the debossed areas as shown in the card below...

...or you can ink the embossed areas as I did on this card.

Stop by again tomorrow for the next video in the series where you will learn how to use your stencils with the Distress Oxide Inks.

Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #3 - Emboss Resist, Water Painting, and Watercoloring

The third video in my Distress Oxide Inks series highlights more fun techniques. Today I will be sharing how to do the emboss resist and water paining techniques and how to use the Distress Oxide Inks to watercolor.

Watch the video below to see how I created these fun cards.

It is amazing how just painting with water can create a bleached effect.

I used a Clear Shimmer Brush instead of water on this card. (Love the sparkle!)

Watercoloring with Chipped Sapphire, Mowed Lawn, and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks.

Watercoloring with Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Peacock Feathers Distressed Oxide Inks.

Stop by tomorrow for video #4 in the series to see how you can use your embossing folders with these super cool inks!

Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #2 - Smooshing Technique

The second video in my Distress Oxide Inks series shows how to create this super fun background by using a technique called “smooshing.” This is one of my favorite techniques using the inks.

Watch the video below to see how I created this card...

Here’s another angle of the card.

Stop by tomorrow to see the next video in the series where I will show you emboss resist, water painting, and watercoloring techniques...

Distress Oxide Inks Video Series #1 - Supplies and Blending

I was honored to be asked by Close to my Heart to create a special video series on Distress Oxide Inks. I created a series of 6 videos showing different techniques and cards using these fun inks. I am thrilled to be able to share them here with you. I will share a new video each day for the next 6 days.

Today I will be talking about the different supplies that I recommend to have on hand when using the Distress Oxide Inks and I will share a couple of cards showing some basic blending techniques. (These inks blend like butter! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!) Watch the video below to see how I made these two cards...

Here are close-ups of the two cards I made in the video.

Check back tomorrow for video #2 in the series where I will show you how to do the super fun smooshing technique!

Operation Smile Card

Close to my Heart supports an incredible charity called Operation Smile. They are a non-profit organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children around the world. Every year CTMH has a special stamp set that they create where $7 of the proceeds go directly to Operation Smile.

We, the Creative Design Team that I am part of, wanted to highlight this stamp set called Every Bit of Wonderful to bring more awareness to this amazing charity. You can help support them by purchasing the stamp set and/or by making a donation directly on my website.

Here is the card that I made using the sweet Every Bit of Wonderful stamp (this year's OS set) and the Bright Stack which is part of the National Stamping Month promotion

Watch the process video below to see how I made this dainty little card.

My video is part of a collaboration with the other Creative Design Team members. Be sure to check out their videos showing more creative ways to use the Operation Smile stamp set and Bright Stack. Be sure to visit each one for lots of creative inspiration!
