She Art

I attended a Close to my Heart Leadership Event this past week and among the great training, amazing food, and fun fellowship time, we also had a some creative time. One of the projects that we made was a canvas “She Art” project. I have always admired others “She Art,” but have been scared to try it myself. When  found out that we were going to make one at this event, my first thought was that I was terrified, but as I got into the process of actually making the project, I had SO MUCH FUN!

These types of projects are very fun, whimsical, and somewhat busy, which I always admire in other designer's projects, but is totally out of my “cleaning & simple” comfort zone. However, I could continue working on this particular canvas for another week by adding more stamped images, paper pieced patterns, etc, but I decided to stop where I was and share it with you. All of the stamps, inks, papers, cardstock, markers, sparkles, and even the canvas is from Close to my Heart.

So what do you think? Would this be something that you’d like to try? I must say it was very freeing and very fun!!!

  1. This is just beautiful. I love the stamp you used and colours you choose. It looks just like you. I hope CTMH will make a video on just how to make "She Art" I would love to give it a go.

    1. Thanks Jane. You are very kind. CTMH didn't actually teach us how to make this. They gave us some papers and showed us some samples and said, "Go for it."

There is an online class that I think inspired the original project that you might want to check out. Here is a link: http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/.../sheartworkshop.html

  2. This is really pretty and feminine! I have been scared to try something like this, so it is always good to move out of your comfort zone and seeing all of these she art ideas has inspired me!

    1. Thanks Lauren. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, but was really fun once I got past the fear factor. *Ü*

  5. I have admired this type of mixed canvas art also, but like you felt intimidated to try it. Your canvas is gorgeous and you've really made it look effortless, but I suppose that's because you are incredibly talented!
