Simply Inspired CTMH New Idea Book Blog Hop

I am excited to be participating in another Simply Inspired blog hop. All of the projects featured in this hop are made using new products from the fabulous new 2014 Spring/Summer Close to my Heart Idea Book. If you arrived here from Lynn Como's blog, you are on the right path. Welcome!

I fell in love with the new Balloon Ride paper and couldn’t wait to make a project using the products from this Collection. I created this 6" x 6" canvas using the Balloon Ride Paper Packet and Dimensional Elements Compliments in addition to a coordinating stamp set called Dreamer. I used a couple of the cards from the Balloon Ride Picture My Life Scrapbooking program as well. (This is a super fun new product that I have fallen in love with. You will most certainly be seeming more projects using this line on my blog in the future!)

I used Mod Podge to adhere all of the elements to the canvas. Stamping on tissue paper with StazOn ink made it easy to add the stamped images to the canvas. After adhering the stamped butterfly to the top of the canvas, I also added an additional butterfly that was stamped onto a piece of Colonial White cardstock. I rolled the wings a bit and added more Mod Podge to give it some dimension. The flower below was created with the Artiste Cricut cartridge by cutting the 3rd flower image (on page 54 of the booklet) at 2".

Now hop on over to see Michelle Snyder’s beautiful creation. If you get lost along the way, you can find a full list of participating Consultants here. Be sure to visit everyone’s blog. You will definitely be inspired by the amazing artwork! *Ü*

All supplies used are from Close to my Heart unless otherwise noted:
Paper: Balloon Ride
Stamps: Dreamer
Ink: Timber Brown StazOn
Other: Canvas, Balloon Ride Compliments, Balloon Ride Picture My Life, Brown & Tan Sparkle Assortment, Mod Podge, Artiste Cricut cartridge, white tissue paper

Special Card from CTMH

I know I have mentioned it many times, but I really do have the BEST job in the world, with the BEST company in the world! I celebrated my 9th anniversary with Close to my Heart last week. The Corporate Office sent me this beautiful handmade card congratulating me on my anniversary and thanking me for my “contributions” over the years. It was signed by everyone on the Executive Team.

What a special surprise it was to receive this little beauty in my mailbox last week. Thank you Jeanette, Kristine, Monica, Brian, and the rest of the CTMH team. You made my day and reminded me why I love being part of the CTMH family so much! xoxo

Quick and Easy Mini Gift Bag

Close to my Heart’s Holiday Tags stamp set is so versatile. In addition to the cards here, it can be used on so many different projects including this simple mini gift bag.

I cut out the scallop circle shape from the Artiste Cricut cartridge and then stamped the coordinating starburst scallop image with Cotton Candy ink. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto a 1" cardstock circle and adhered it to the center with some 3-D Foam Tape. I adhered the whole thing to the center of a mini gift bag with more Foam Tape and was able to wrap my gift in about 3 minutes! (You’ll have to wait to see what’s inside the bag until the new catalog comes out on February 1st. It’s a fun new product that makes a GREAT gift!! wink-wink!)

Cross-Stitch Wishes Valentine's Day Card

Close to my Heart’s January Stamp of the Month is called Cross-Stitch Wishes. It such a fun stamp set and is perfect for any occasion, especially Valentine’s Day. I cut some White Daisy cardstock mini hearts at 1/4" using the Artiste Cricut cartridge. Then I used the 1" stitched heart image to stamp them with Cranberry, Cotton Candy, and 2nd generation Cotton Candy ink. I popped them up with a small piece of 3-D Foam Tape. (The tape was so easy to cut with my non-stick micro-tip scissors!) The sentiment is actually a combination of two different sentiments that come in the set. I masked them to create the “You are special” wording in Cocoa and Cranberry ink.

Isn’t the stamp set cute?

You can purchase the stamp set at full price for $17.95, but did you know that you can get the set for just $5 with a $50 qualifying order? Click on the image below to order your own Cross-Stitch Wishes stamp set, but hurry. It is only available through January 31st.

Your cards will have a fun color on the inside with the scallop border peeking through on the outside.

Make sure to add on the Scallop Border Punch if you don’t already have one. If you don’t use it, your cards will have a straight line of color peeking through instead of the scallop shape.
