Circle Spin Cards

Have you seen Close to my Heart’s fun new Circle Spin Cards? I had the chance to play with them last week while coming up with a couple of birthday card ideas for a friend of mine. She wanted a “boy” version and a “girl” version.

I sanded some Cranberry cardstock for the top layer of the “boy” version and cut out the small square using Cricut Craft Room. (Here is the .ccr file I created to make it easier to cut the small square.) The Birthday Wish mini stamp was stamped to make the background in Cranberry ink. I also cut (2) 2" circles and stamped it on each one with Slate ink. Then I colored the sentiment in with Whisper and Cranberry markers. I adhered one circle to each side of the spinner with 3-D Foam Tape. (I wonder if I will ever be able to make a project without using 3-D Foam Tape? LOL!)

I also stamped the car image from the Maximum Power stamp set on a piece of scrap cardstock and cut it out. After coloring it in, I adhered it to the card with...yes, you guessed it...some 3-D Foam Tape. I don't have a photo of the inside, but I also used the Maximum Power set to stamp some tire tracks on the inside at the bottom with Slate ink.

My “girl” version was inspired by a card that we made at the CTMH Convention this past summer. I used some Laughing Lola papers and one of the stamps that comes with the Artiste Cricut Collection to create the cupcake and the birthday banner. (I LOVE this stamp set!) The scallops were created with CTMH’s Scallop Border Punch. After adhering the scalloped layers, I curled them up a bit to give the card a little fun dimension.

I also added a little bit of Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel to the cupcake sprinkles. After all, what fun is a cupcake without sprinkles?

I’d love to see what you make with the Circle Spin Cards. Feel free to post a link here to your cards. If you don’t have any of these fun cards yet, you are welcome to visit my shopping website to order the supplies.

  1. These are really cute Lisa! I haven't tried making one yet, but I'm inspired to now. Especially when you've made it so easy with the CCR file. Thank you so much!
