For Always Advisory Board Layout

One of the highlights of being a Close to my Heart Consultant for me is the opportunity of being on the current Advisory Board. I am sooo blessed, honored, and truly humbled to be serving with four of the most creative, talented, smart, and beautiful women I know: Karen Morris, Kristina Livingstone, Brandy Lees, and Jillene Moen.

To kick off off our one-year commitment last August, we got to go to Utah and spend a few days working with the fabulous CTMH Executive Team. The Execs kept saying that we would have a lot of work to do and that they really appreciated our time and the sacrifice that we made to be there. (But I will let you in on a little secret. It truly did not feel like work at all. They spoiled us rotten with delicious meals, wonderful gifts, and lots of laughs. Check out the cozy monogrammed robes we all got. So much fun!)

One of the special things that they did for us was having the Art Department design some fun layouts for us to create. This is one of them. I finally finished this layout (7 months later) and added some of the photos we took while we were at the retreat.

I loved getting to play with upcoming product before it was released, including the beautiful For Always Collection, Black Tulle, and Slate Mini-Medley Collection.

This is my favorite photo of all of them. Poor Jillene had no idea that I was pretending to spray her with the faucet while the photographer was snapping away. The best part was when we were getting out of the giant tub, someone accidentally hit the facet and it actually turned on. lol

I LOVE these gals and am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to serve with them!

For Always Mother's Day Card

It’s not too early to start thinking about Mother’s Day. My mom loves the color black so I thought I’d make her a card using Close to my Heart’s new For Always paper packet. I added in a little pop of color with some Lagoon cardstock.

To make the card, I cut a piece of Black cardstock to 4-1/4" x 10" and scored and folded it at 5-1/2". I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the For Always Collection to the folded flap. Then I used the edge of a White Daisy Die Cut Card and traced it on the bottom of the flap with a pencil. After cutting it out, I adhered a piece of 4-1/4" x 4-1/2" Lagoon cardstock on the inside and trimmed it with my scissors so that it had about 1/8" mat on the bottom.

I matted a 3/8" strip of another patterned paper to a piece of Black and Lagoon cardstock and then adhere that strip to the bottom of the card. A 1/2" strip of Lagoon cardstock was added to a 5/8" strip of Black cardstock and adhered to the flap of the card. Using the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I cut the bracket shape at 1-1/2" from some White Daisy cardstock and stamped the image in Black ink from the Perfect Fit - Mom stamp set. I adhered it to the flap over the strip with some 3-D Foam tape to finish it off.

Because the inside of the card is black, I plan to write a note inside with a white or silver gel pen.

Stay tuned for a fun scrapbook layout that I made using the same beautiful For Always Collection...

"B Happy" Card

I have a few more Buzz and Bumble projects to share with you including this square shaped “B Happy” card. To make this card, I used a 5-1/2" x 11" piece of Cocoa cardstock as the base. After scoring it and folding it in half, I matted some Buzz and Bumble patterned paper onto a piece of Créme Brulee cardstock. Then I cut a banner shape from a piece of the honeycomb paper, also from the Buzz and Bumble paper packet. I inked the edges with some Cocoa ink and adhered them to the card.

To make the focal point, I matted one of the stickers from the Buzz and Bumble My Stickease to another piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the card with some 3-D Foam Tape. I cut a small flower from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, inked the edges, and added a wooden flower from the Buzz and Bumble Assortment. I finished it off with a small Artisan Stud in the center.

Buzz and Bumble "Friends" Layout

One of my favorite new Collections in the new Close to my Heart Idea Book is called Buzz and Bumble. I created this layout using photos of me with one of my closest friends, and fellow CTMH Consultants, Christine Adams. She and I have a special relationship and I respect her in so many ways! As soon as I saw the “friends” theme of this paper Collection I knew it would be perfect to showcase some of our photos.

On the left page I used the letters in the Buzz and Bumble My Stickease for the title. I also used a couple of the fun self adhesive wooden shapes in the Buzz and Bumble Assortment. I stamped the bee’s “trail” using a stamp from the Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go stamp set.

I also created a small cluster at the top of the page using some of the elements from the Buzz and Bumble My Stickease and B&B Assortments. I LOVE the self adhesive faux wax seal. It is soft and flexible and looks just like a real wax seal.

The “journaling” on the right page is from a zip strip from one of the patterned papers in the B&B paper packet.

I used a few more My Stickease and some wooden scroll accents from the Mini Medley Wooden Accents to make another cluster on the bottom right corner of the frame. The “Sweet as Honey” was stamped using the Honeycomb stamp set.

The frame was created using Cricut Craft Room. I cut it out of some Cocoa cardstock and then stamped it with Cocoa ink using one of the the Patterned Pennants stamps. Instead of putting a photo in the top left opening, I used a piece of patterned paper and stamped a sentiment from the Fabulous You stamp set and then added another wooden bee from the B&B Assortments.

One of the things that I love most about scrapbooking, is recording memories so that I can go back later and relive the fun times that I have had with family and friends. One of the things I love most about being a Close to my Heart Consultant, is making such great friends to create those memories with! Love you Christine! xoxo
