March Kids Club - Mini Banners

At the beginning of the year I started a monthly Kid’s Creative Club for home schooled kids ages 8-18. The class meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at my house from 10am - 11am. I have had a lot of great feedback on the Kid’s Club projects and many adults have even wanted to order kits, so I thought I would offer the kits to you online as well. These projects tend to be a little more simple and easier for little hands to make. If you’d like to order a kit(s) for yourself or for your kids, feel free to do so below. Long distance kits will include an additional $5 charge for shipping. Please indicate in the "Add special instructions to the seller" section in the shopping cart if you would like your letters pre-stamped.

This month's class will be on Friday morning, March 9th from 10am - 11am. We will be making fun personalized mini banners. Each pennant measure approximately 3" x 4". There are two options to choose from:

The pink/green option includes:
  • (1) package of My Creations Mini Banners which include (10) white chipboard pennants in 4 different shapes
  • (10) die cut patterned papers from the Lucy Collection to match the pennant shapes
  • (10) die cut 1-1/2" Colonial White circles
  • (10) die cut 1-3/4" Sweet Leaf scallop circles
  • (1) package of Bitty Buds Assortments
  • (9) pieces of pink ribbon

The blue/red option includes:

ETA: Thank you for the wonderful response.
This class is now full, and all kits are sold out. Sorry.
Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions.

I LOVE Happy Mail!

I got some happy mail the other day from my sweet friend Karen Pedersen. What a surprise to go to my mailbox and find a package with not one, but FOUR sweet handmade cards! Thanks Karen! You are such a sweetheart!

I’d love to share one of her little beauties with you today. She used the cute stamp set that comes in the Lucy Workshop on the Go Kit along with the Universal Backgrounds set and a sentiment from the Card Chatter - Sympathy set. Don’t you just love the sparkle she added to the flower. It looks like she either used Liquid Glass and a little Prisma Glitter or possibly a little Stardust Glitter Gel. Either way, I love how it turned out!

Don’t you love getting happy mail like this? I’ll bet you can think of someone who could use a little happy mail. Why not send one of your handmade cards to someone today and brighten their day?

Thanks again Karen! You certainly brightened my day! *Ü*

Custom Family Card

Did you know that you can order customized stamp sets from Close to my Heart? When I saw the Family Love set, I knew it was one that I must have. (There are so many great stamps in the set.) Then it dawned on me that I could order a customized stamp for only $5.95 that said, “The Stenz” and I could combine it with the word “Family” in the Family Love set. We are constantly being blessed by others, and I always like to send a thank you card from the family to those who bless us. So I plan to make a bunch of these cards to have on hand for those quick thank yous.

I also used some of Close to my Heart’s Kraft cardstock, another must-have stamp set called Card Word Puzzle, and a little Cocoa Grosgrain ribbon. I stamped the flowers from the Card Word Puzzle set in White Daisy pigment ink. (I love how our White Daisy ink stamps on the Kraft cardstock.) After masking the words “we start and end with” from the Family set, I stamped the word “family” in Cocoa ink. I added “The Stenz” with some Cocoa ink and was done in less than 5 minutes.

I hope this gives you some ideas for making quick and easy Family Thank You cards.

Lucy Scallop Layout

I have another Lucy project to share with you today.  I was excited to use a lot of Close to my Heart’s new products on this layout. I started out with the papers from the new Lucy Collection. Using my all time favorite Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, I cut the cardstock base using the scallop square shape and cut some smaller scallop squares for the photo mats on the right page. After adding some Lucy patterned paper to the base, I added the zip strip that comes on the top of one of the patterned papers. (Did you know that each piece of CTMH patterned paper has a cute designer strip across the top? On the back of the strip, it lists all of the colors used in the Collection. So handy! Just cut it off and you have another coordinating element to use on your project! Don’t you love when something is both functional and cute?)

I also used some of our new Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon. I am officially IN LOVE with this new ribbon. You can die it in ANY color you want. I used a bit of Blush re-inker and mixed it with some water and was thrilled that the ribbon took the color so quickly and so well. You can also color it with a sponge and an ink pad, an ink mixture in a spray pen, or even with markers! After adding the ribbon and zip strip, I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.

Click to the photos to enlarge.

I also used the new Lucy Glitter Rub-Ons to make the floral clusters. This is another product that I have fallen in love with! They are so easy to work it and so pretty.

The title was made using the new Keepsake Felt Alphabet. If you like alphabet stickers, these will blow you away! They are self-adhesive felt and are really cool.

I also added some Sparkle Flourishes, an Irresistable Persnickety Journaling Spot(Love the name of that product), and a couple of little flowers from the Bitty Buds Assortment.

And then, of course, I had to add a few pictures of my adorable daughter to finish off the layout. LOL!

If you’d like to purchase any of the products I used on this layout, feel free to visit my website here.

Lucy Scallop Card

I am still hard at work on some big deadline projects, but wanted to pop in to share a little artwork with you. Here is a fun card I made using the new Lucy papers and Lucy Compliment Rub-Ons. The Rub-Ons are sooooo much fun. These even have a little glitter in them!

The card base was created using one of the 100 different card shapes on CTMH’s Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I also used Cricut Craft Room to add the fun bracket shape in the center and the oval mat. (All of which are on the AP cartridge, by the way.)

This is what the inside looks like. I used one of the Rub-Ons directly on the inside of the card and just lined it up with the cut-out on the front. (Sorry my photos aren’t very good.)

I also used some of the smaller Rub-Ons in the pack to embellish the outside of the card.

Stayed tuned for a few more fun Lucy projects...
