October Creative Club Project - Card Box and Mini Cards

Next month’s Creative Club project will be this cute little Fall-Themed Note Card Box and four 3"x3" cards to go inside. It is perfect for a hostess or teacher gift. You can even change the papers and colors to make a Birthday box or Christmas box.
I will be teaching the rock and roll stamping technique which gives the stamped leaves the fun multi-colors. We will also be using some of my favorite coloring products including Water Color Pencils and Blending Pen.
Here is a close up of one of the cards.
My Creative Club meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm at my house, however, you do not need to be local to be part of the club. My long distance members get their kits mailed to them and any orders they place, get drop shipped to them directly from the Close to my Heart office. (Sometimes they even get their orders before the local gals!) Next month's club is on Wednesday, October 14th. If you would like to attend or order a kit, please contact me no later than October 5th so that I have enough time to order the supplies and prepare your kit(s).

Click here for more details on this super fun club! Contact me at lisa@myctmh.com for more information, to sign up for next month’s class, or to order your own club kit(s).

Monthly (no-commitment) Creative Club

Do you like to make fun projects at a great price or for FREE? Do you like to learn new techniques? Do you like to earn free products? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, my monthly Creative Club is for you!

My Creative Club meets the 2nd Wednesday and Thursday of the month at 7pm at my house, however, you do not need to be local to be part of the club. My long distance members get their kits mailed to them and any orders they place, get drop shipped to them directly from the Close to my Heart office. (Sometimes they even get their orders before the local gals!)

Here is more information on the Club:
You may join the club at any time and there is no commitment to stay in the club for any length of time or to place an order. There will be a $5 or $10 fee (depending on the project) for the supplies used for the projects we make which will range from cards to small gift items, to scrapbook pages, and more. Each person who signs up for this club will have their name added to the bottom of the hostess list. The person whose name is on the top of the list will get the hostess rewards that month. In order for your name to keep its “place” on the list, you must place a $25 minimum order whether you attend the class that month or not. If you do not place a $25+ order that month, then your name goes down to the bottom of the list. If you do place a $25+ order, then your name continues to move up the list AND you will get a discount on your kit or your kit for free for that class. (Depending on the project.) Long distance members pay an additional $5 to have their project kits mailed to them.

Club members will also receive:
  • A free current Idea Book/Catalog
  • Free Hostess Rewards during your hosting month
  • $10, $5 or free optional monthly classes
  • Optional opportunity to hold a home workshop, gathering, or catalog party to boost your hostess benefits
  • $5 discounts on all workshops while you are a member
  • Lots of other freebies and surprises...

"Happy Endings" Birthday Card

We have a few birthday parties coming up so I made a couple of cards to have on hand. These little cards, inspired by Michelle Loader, use the cute Close to my Heart Happy Endings and Happy Birthday stamp sets along with a tiny sentiment from Papertrey's Mixed Messages set. I also used some paper from CTMH’s Daydream Paper packet. I cut out and popped up the fairy on one of the cards and added a little Prisma Glitter, which is hard to see in the photos, to the wings and wand. One of the birthday girls who received the card today seemed to like it.

Yikes. What happened to my counter?

Oh my goodness. I just took a peek at my counter and it is only showing 12K hits. I had over 100K a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know why it would go back down to only 12K? Hmm....

September Stamp of the Month Card

The CTMH September stamp of the month is soooooo cute! I used it to make this simple little card. First, I embossed the dandelion on some white cardstock with Clear Detailed Embossing Powder and then used a Foam Tool to apply some Crystal Blue ink around it to make it pop. (The sentiments are part of the set too!) After I distressed the edges with an Edge Distresser , I mounted it on some Chocolate cardstock. Super quick and easy.

Tea Party Favors and Thank You Cards

My daughter's Tea Party was a big hit on Saturday. If you would like to see some photos, feel free to visit my family blog here.
I posted the invitations a couple weeks ago and wanted to carry the theme throughout the favors and the thank you cards, so this is what I came up with. I used Lauren Meader’s Pretty Petal Pocket Template for the little purses and added some patterned paper from Close to my Heart’s That’s Amore paper packet. I also used a pink paper flower from CTMH’s Just Blooms Big Pinks Flowers with a self adhesive pearl inside. I also added a little pearl to the “clasp.” The names were printed using a font called Bickham Script. (It is one of my all time favorite fonts!)
Each little girl also got an adorable hat, play pearls, a feather boa, gloves, and a cute little tea pot cookie. (If you ever need to purchase any tea sets, fun dress up clothes, or these cute cookies, you must visit Karen Ebert’s online store called Catriona’s Castle. Her website is www.catrionascastle.com. She was great to work with and went out of her way to get us a sweet little top hat for the one little boy who came to the party! Thank you again Karen!)
Speaking of the little boy who attended, I couldn’t very well give him a little pink purse with pearls, gloves, and a boa, so I made this little “manly” bag for him to take home and filled it with a yo-yo, some candy, etc. I used some paper from the new Sweet Home paper packet. He also had an adorable black top hat that Karen sent me with my order. (Sorry the photo is so bad. It was, unfortunately, the only one I took of the bag.)
The thank you card used the same patterned paper as the invitation and the little purses, along with a new CTMH stamp set called Childhood Portrait. It was just perfect for this card. The border around the little girl is from another new set called Welcome Home. The tiny little sentiment is from Papertrey’s Mixed Messages set. I also used some of their Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon. I punched out the main image, inked the edges with some Chocolate ink and adhered it to the card using some 3-D Foam Tape to give it a little dimension.I need to leave you with just one of the many photos that I took on Saturday. How cute are these guys?
Now that the party is over, I suppose I should start thinking about what to do next year. LOL!
