Anything for you...

Deborah Davis created a sweet card using the Treasure Life stamp set along with some tiny hearts from the Solo O set to make a dandelion out of one of the flowers. I thought it was the greatest thing so I had to copy her idea. Her card is much more detailed and in my usual fashion, my version is much more simplified. I wish I could link you to her version so you could see her beautiful card, but it is posted on the CTMH Consultant's Only bulletin board so the link won't work. You'll just have to trust me that her card was very cute. *Ü*

Stamps: CTMH Treasure Life (no longer available), Solo O, Priceless Love
Cardstock: White Daisy, Cranberry
Inks: Blush, Cranberry, Vineyard Berry
Other: 3-D Foam Squares

You have got to see this...

Have you been over to Jeanette Lynton's blog lately? She has some wonderful things to say along with some beautiful Valentine cards today. Be sure to check out today's post.

The Great Moms Walk of 2009

Have you heard of the Great Moms Walk? On February 28th, I will be participating in this wonderful event! The Great Moms Walk is an event in which tens of thousands of women around the world walk or virtually walk to raise money for the cause of motherhood.

My two year involvement at MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has been invaluable to myself and my family. As a mother, I have an incredible opportunity to make an impact on society through raising well rounded, caring individuals who contribute to the betterment of our world. MOPS has played a vital role in educating and equipping me to do just that. Not only am I able to enrich my own family through MOPS, but I also get opportunities to serve moms less fortunate than myself through community service and scholarship opportunities.

I very rarely ask anyone to donate to anything, but this is a great cause that most Moms can relate to. If you choose to partner with me in supporting this amazing cause your donation will go to help scholarship new moms and offset the cost of childcare during our MOPS meetings. Every penny stays within our group!

I know times are tough and I completely understand. So if you are not in a position to give, please accept this post merely as an update on what is happening in my life these days. If you are able to contribute to this cause, ANY amount is appreciated.

You can donate by clicking on the link to the right or by clicking here. Thanks so much! *Ü*

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. LOL!

Cupcake Sprinkles

Here is a fun 5"x5" card using CTMH's new Cupcake Sprinkles stamp set. I used Liquid Applique for the frosting and then added some brads for the sprinkles. The wrapper and border are popped up with 3-D Foam Squares. I used the new Daydream Paper on the right side of the card and cut it with the new Large Coluzzle Circle Template. (This thing is awesome. The circles are huge!) I think I will be using it a lot in the future. I added a little pink ric rac from the Blush Ribbon Rounds and topped it all off with a white Rub On from the new Love Story Rub Ons.I added a little sponging with some Foam Tools to soften the edges a bit. The colors used were blush, Lilac Mist, and Sweet Leaf. I can't wait to play a little more with this stamp set. It is so much fun!

Coaster Calendar and Online Sale Update

Here is a fun little desk calendar made from coasters. I used the CTMH January Stamp of the Month called Moments in Time for the calendar. This set is great because you can use it year after year and customize the dates each month/year. I used the Emporium Creative Basics paper and ribbon and glued them to the coasters with Bonding Memories Glue. Then I attached the two coasters together using CTMH Hinges. (Of course I had to add a cute picture of my kids tackling me on the grass.)Close up of the calendar. The borders, dated, months, etc are all separate stamps so customizing is easy. Plus with the clear acrylic stamps, you can line them up perfectly every time!
Here is a picture of the back. I used the back side of the patterened paper.

Quick update on the Online Sale...
There were a few glitches early this morning, but it all seems to be working well now. Feel free to click here to check out the great deals.

HUGE Online Clearance Sale!

It is that time of year again. Close to my Heart is having their online clearance sale starting Monday morning at 7:00 am (PST) and everything will go fast!

A host of new discounted items will be available on my website including stamp sets, favorite paper packets, accessories, and more! There will be a little of something for everyone at a phenomenal 40% off retail pricing!

If any of you remember the last time CTMH released discontinued and discounted items on our websites, there was a frenzy right at 7am and many of the great products were gone within the hour. So, if you are interested in seeing what is available at these great prices, I suggest visiting my website right at 7am on Monday morning so you don't miss out.

Here is another tip to make your online shopping experience a little easier. With the site upgrade last month, we can now store your account information for you. (No need to re-enter your contact info each time you shop. Plus you will be able to look up all of the items you have previously ordered.) Because you need to set up your account the first time you shop, I suggest going to my site before Monday and setting up an account so that it is all ready for you when you hop on at 7am Monday morning. (This way you won't waste any valuable time setting up your account on Monday.)

Another note about my website—if you have the site bookmarked on your computer, you will need to delete it, type in “lisa.myctmh.com” and then re-bookmark the site again. For some reason the old links and bookmarks don't work anymore.

Click here to go directly to the online shopping section of my website.

Happy Shopping!

True Treasures Mini Cards

This cute little stamp set called True Treasures is adorable. It is a set of four mini stamps that come with a 1"x1" block. It is the current Close to my Heart booking set, which means that you can earn it by hosting a home gathering or workshop and having 3 of your guests book their own gathering or workshop.
I used the True Treasures set to stamp the cute squares and then matted them with Chocolate cardstock. My new Intrinsic Backgrounds set was used to stamp the flowers in the background on the 3x3 cards. I trimmed a bit off the bottom with my scallop scissors and added a strip of Chocolate cardstock on the inside. I added a little piece of Chocolate ribbon at the top from the Chocolate Ribbon Rounds to finish off the cards. They are very simple but kind of cute. I just love those cute little images in the True Treasures set.

Key to my Heart Photo Wallet

We only have a few more days to get the beautiful Key to my Heart Kit. I just love the paper but know that it will soon run out so I wanted to make a project using the stamp set and different papers to show how versatile the stamps are. We made this cute little photo wallet in our Creative Club this month. (BTW, I am starting a new Creative Club in March. More info to come...) Above is the front of the wallet and below is the back.Below are some photos of the inside.Yu can click on the photos to see them larger. I used the paper from the new Emporium paper pack and the Emporium Creative Basics pack along with cardstock in Cocoa, Crystal Blue, and Sweet Leaf. One of the best things about Acrylic stamps is that you can cut them. Notice that I cut the journaling lines out of the middle of the rectangular frame so that I could use it in a horizontal format. I just used a sharp Exacto Blade. (I still need to add journaling to my project.)
You can check out a tutorial on how to make these cute little photo wallets here.

Stamps: CTMH Key to My Heart
Papers: CTMH Emporium
Cardstock: CTMH Cocoa, Crystal Blue, White Daisy, Sweet Leaf
Inks: Cocoa, Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf, Vineyard Berry
Other: Cocoa Grosgrain Ribbon, Velcro Circles, Corner Rounder

Tricia, love the idea of using the tower to store ink pads. If I don't sell the last one I may end up doing that. *Ü*

Valentine's Cards

Here are a few Valentine's Cards for your viewing pleasure. LOL!
The first one was inspired by a card that Kacey Elliott made with Papertrey Ink stamps. I loved it and knew I wanted to recreate it using CTMH products. I used the stamp set called Key to my Heart that comes in the National Papercrafting Month promotion kit. Click here for more info on that kit and click here for a chance to win one! I punched tiny holes in the hearts and the background and then strung some Colonial White Waxy Flax through them to make them look like they were hanging. I attached them with 3-D Foam Squares. The sentiment came from the February Word Puzzle stamp set. The background paper is from the That's Amore paper packet.
This card was inspired by Kristina Werner. She uses this simple design on many of her cards and since I want to be just like her when I grow up, I do also. This card also uses the That's Amore paper packet along with some Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon and stamps from the Soul Mates Word Puzzle and the February Word Puzzle sets. I also used some 3-D Foam Squares as I do on many of my projects. I sanded the white core cardstock with CTMH's Sanding Kit and rounded the corners with a Corner Rounder.
This one might look familiar because I designed it a while back using the Silhouette paper packet and a few others as shown here. I recreated it again using the That's Amore paper. I used the Rustic Alphabet stamps for the word “TRUE” and the February Word Puzzle for the word “love.”

This last one is another recreation of a card I did a long time ago. Here is one sample of an older version using the Floral Tapestry paper. It uses one of my favorite stamp sets of all time called Simple Stitches. If you like the look of sewing on your cards and layouts but don't like to take the time to do it, this stamp set is the perfect solution. I also used a Big Pinks Paper Flower along with a stamped image (friend) from the September Word Puzzle covered with a Circle Window Charm as a little accent. The words “Forever & Always” come from the Friendship Word Puzzle. This card design is perfect to make with those little scraps that you hate to throw away.
