"Smile" Layout

Is this not the cutest picture you have ever seen? I took this picture after I managed to get my daughter's hair into two tiny ponytails, which lasted about 5 minutes before she pulled them out. (It took about 20 minutes to get them in and 2 seconds for her to pull them out.) LOL! I can't wait for her hair to grow a little more so that I can do something with it.

In any case, this is a layout that we did at Convention. It uses the new Notebook Paper Packet, the September Word Puzzle stamp set and some fun new embellishments. All products CTMH unless otherwise noted: Stamps: September Word Puzzle Ink: Chocolate Patterned Paper: Notebook Other: Sparkles, Holiday Buttons, Hemp,Staples, Chocolate Brads, Colonial White Grosgrain Ribbon, Scoring Blade on Paper Trimmer, Sanding Block, Edge Distresser

I am honored...

Thank you so much Kim for giving me this (super cute) award! It reminded me that I hadn't posted anything in over a week! Yikes!! I am so sorry. I was privileged to meet Kim at the CTMH Convention. She introduced herself to me and as soon as she handed me her business card and I saw her blog address, I knew exactly who she was. In fact, I am one of her biggest fans!! *Ü*

Here are the rules:
  • The winner can put the logo on her blog
  • Link to the person you received your award from
  • Nominate at least 7 other blogs
  • Put the links of those blogs on yours
  • Leave a message for the bloggers you've nominated
  • In my usual fashion, I am not going to nominate anyone in particular because there are soooo many blogs that I love to visit and get inspiration from almost daily. (In fact, many of them have already received this award.) So, instead I invite you to visit the links that are on the right side of my blog. They are among my favs. I have a ton more to add! I promise I will do that soon.

    Thanks again Kim!! *Ü*

    Blog Backgrounds

As you may have noticed, I have been playing with my blog backgrounds for the past couple weeks. I keep going back and forth between wanting to have a cute background and not. (Thanks Kimberly for your sweet comment about the background I had up during the past few days.)

I decided that the backgrounds I was playing with, although cute, were too bold and distracting, so...I am going to leave the background white until I can figure out a way to make it more subtle.

    Another Treasure Life Card

Here is another CTMH Sept SOTM Card. The stamp set is called Treasure Life and I just can't get enough of it! *Ü* I am not sure if I like this card or not. It didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned it.

I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate ink first. Then stamped some of the flowers with second generation Sweet Leaf and Crystal Blue. Then I embossed some of the leaves/flowers with clear embossing powder. And then finally sponged some Sweet Leaf and Crystal Blue ink on top.

A friend of mine told me that it reminded her of one of those mushy Hallmark cards. I guess that is a compliment. LOL!

    Boom-di-ada "Thanks" Card

I love this card because it shows so many ways that you can use Chipboard. I used CTMH's Dimensional Elements Monograms with stamps, patterned paper, and other embellishments. It is a fairly simple card, but has a lot of fun elements on it.
All products CTMH unless otherwise noted: Stamps: Spot On Backgrounds Ink: Buttercup, Barn Red, Hollyhock Patterned Paper: Boom-di-ada Other: Dimensional Elements Monograms & Simple Alphabet, Buttons, Brads, Just Blooms Flowers

    Flower Child Layout

This layout uses CTMH's Boom-d-Ada paper packet along with a bunch of products from the new catalog that will be released next month. I had a lot of fun distressing the edges of the photos with the white paint that comes in the Distressing Kit.

These photos are so precious to me. My daughter is growing up so fast that I am trying to take as many pictures as I can. A lot of people told me that they have lots of photos and scrapbook pages of their first child but not as many of their other children. I am trying really hard to have lots of photos and pages of both kids. (It's a good thing that we are not planning on having any more. LOL!)

All products CTMH unless otherwise noted: Stamps: Spot On Backgrounds Ink: Buttercup Patterned Paper: Boom-di-ada Other: Ric Rac, Distressing Kit, Just Blooms , Buttons, Brads, Bigger Brads, Ribbon, Dimensional Elements Simple Alphabet, 3-D Foam Squares, Mini Medley Accents, Expressive Fonts CD

    Treasure Life Card

Have you ever seen a piece of clothing and thought, "That would make a cute card?" Well, I bought this shirt a few months ago and have been wondering how I could make a card that looks like it. When I received CTMH's September Stamp of the Month, I knew that it was the perfect stamp set to help me create a card to match my shirt. LOL!
Here is what I came up with. I used CTMH's Cocoa and Crystal Blue cardstock along with White, Crystal Blue (retired), and Seafoam (retired) Embossing Powder. (The blue and green flowers look a little faded in the photo. They are actually much more vibrant in real life.) The card is simple, but I kind of like the way it turned out. I may make a few more using different flowers from the set. I think this may be one of my favorite stamp sets of all time!

    Christmas Layout

As I mentioned, I had a great time at Convention. I was asked to teach a class and had to prepare a bunch of display boards in a limited amount of time. Here is one of the layouts that I did using a new paper pack called Evensong which will be released next month with the new catalog.
All products CTMH unless otherwise noted: Cardstock: Colonial White, New England Ivy, Cranberry Stamps: Legendary Moments Ink: New England Ivy Patterned Paper: Evensong Other: Dimensional Elements Alphabets, Sanding Kit, Buttons, Brads, Ribbon, Fabric Tags

This is what happens when I go out of town and Daddy is in charge...

I got home last night from Convention and let me just say I had the BEST time! It was so much fun to meet all of my wonderful CTMH sisters that I only know online. It was fun to meet you all in person!!
I just have to share what happened while I was gone. I called home every night to check on the kids (and my hubby.) The first night I called my hubby said, "I just took the best pictures for you to scrapbook." Intrigued, I asked, "What are these great pictures of my dear?" He then proceeded to tell me that my daughter got a hold of my son's markers and colored all over her legs. I have no idea where hubby was during all of this, but I was glad that I trained him well enough to take photos before he gave her a bath. After I saw these photos, I wasn't sure if I should address the fact that my daughter's legs looked like rainbows or the fact that the house looked like a tornado hit it. I suppose I should just be grateful that everyone was still alive when I got home. LOL!
